Module: RADIUS-ACC-CLIENT-MIB
OID (symbolic): RADIUS-ACC-CLIENT-MIB::radiusAccClientExtTimeouts
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.67.2.2.1.1.4.1.12
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Counter32
Access: read-only
Description: The number of accounting timeouts to this server. After a timeout, the client may retry to the same server, send to a different server, or give up. A retry to the same server is counted as a retransmit as well as a timeout. A send to a different server is counted as an Accounting-Request as well as a timeout. This counter may experience a discontinuity when the RADIUS Accounting Client module within the managed entity is reinitialized, as indicated by the current value of radiusAccClientCounterDiscontinuity.
What is radiusAccClientExtTimeouts?
This counter tracks the number of accounting timeouts to this server, where a retry to the same server also counts as a retransmission and a send to a different server also counts as a request; it may show a discontinuity if the accounting client module reinitializes. Admins use it to detect when a specific accounting server is failing to respond in time, prompting failover behavior or investigation into that server's health. For example, a steadily climbing radiusAccClientExtTimeouts count for one server while a backup server shows none would indicate that first server needs attention.
