Description: Manages BATM Advanced Communication LLDP neighbor discovery, port description advertisement, and neighbor table maintenance.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is PRVT-LLDP-MIB?
PRVT-LLDP-MIB is a vendor MIB from BATM Advanced Communication managing Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) neighbor discovery, configuration, and statistics on its devices. It exposes LLDP protocol timers (reinitialization delay, transmit intervals/hold), neighbor table maintenance statistics, and per-port transmit statistics. Its monitoring value is primarily software/protocol status: it lets an operator verify LLDP is enabled and functioning, and by tracking neighbor table insert/delete/ageout/drop counters, detect unstable neighbor relationships that could indicate a flapping link or misconfigured neighbor. It builds directly on the standard IEEE 802.1AB LLDP model (paralleling the standard LLDP-MIB) as a vendor-specific extension. It is deployed on BATM Advanced Communication switches used in networks relying on LLDP for topology discovery and neighbor management applications. Engineers can download the PRVT-LLDP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PRVT-LLDP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

- BATM Advanced Communication network device
Monitoring Examples
An admin would poll prvtLldpStatsRemTablesInserts, prvtLldpStatsRemTablesDeletes, and prvtLldpStatsRemTablesAgeouts to see how often neighbor entries are being added, removed, or aging out, and check prvtLldpStatsTxPortTable for per-port transmit statistics. A high prvtLldpStatsRemTablesAgeouts count combined with frequent prvtLldpStatsRemTablesLastChange updates would suggest an unstable neighbor connection or intermittent link. The prvtLldpEnable and timer objects (prvtLldpTransmitInterval, prvtLldpReinitDelay) let an operator confirm LLDP configuration matches expected settings.
What Can Be Monitored
- LLDP enable status
- neighbor table insert/delete/ageout counts
- per-port LLDP transmit statistics
- LLDP timer configuration
