pppSecurityConfigStatus

Module: PPP-SEC-MIB

OID (symbolic): PPP-SEC-MIB::pppSecurityConfigStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.23.2.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Setting this object to the value invalid(1) has the effect of invalidating the corresponding entry in the

pppSecurityConfigTable. It is an implementation-specific matter as to whether the agent removes an invalidated entry from the table. Accordingly, management stations must be prepared to receive tabular information from agents that corresponds to entries not currently in use. Proper interpretation of such entries requires examination of the relevant pppSecurityConfigStatus object.

What is pppSecurityConfigStatus?

This enumerated value indicates whether a row in the PPP security configuration table is valid or has been invalidated. Admins set it to invalid(1) to logically remove a security protocol configuration entry without necessarily deleting the underlying table row. A management station reading valid(2) confirms the corresponding link's security protocol and preference settings are actively in effect.

Examples

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PPP-SEC-MIB::pppSecurityConfigStatus

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.23.2.2.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PPP-SEC-MIB::pppSecurityConfigStatus.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.23.2.2.1.4.1 i <value>
