plxGenericHubTrap

Module: PLEXCOM-MIB

OID (symbolic): PLEXCOM-MIB::plxGenericHubTrap

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.465.0.5

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: The generic hub trap is sent when one of several changes occurs in the status of the agent. There are three conditions which may cause this: the addition or deletion of a group (usually a module) from the agent (or chassis), in which case the plxGroupType variable is returned, and changes in the autopartition or link states of a given port, in which case the plxPortAutoPartState or plxPortLinkState variables are returned, respectively.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' PLEXCOM-MIB::plxGenericHubTrap
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.465.0.5

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:64239->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (47464175) 5 days, 11:50:41.75
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: PLEXCOM-MIB::plxGenericHubTrap
