etherIfAlarmStatus

Module: PEGASUS-SDH-MIB

OID (symbolic): PEGASUS-SDH-MIB::etherIfAlarmStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6368.2.8.3.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-only

Description: This variable indicates the status of an Ethernet Interface. It's a bitmap represented as a sum. Therefore multiple defects can be displayed simultaneously. The value noAlarm is only set if there isn't any alarm. The various bit positions are (LO = LowOrder, HO = HighOrder): 1 No alarm 2 LO LCAS group identifier mismatch (Rx) 4 HO LCAS group identifier mismatch (Rx) 8 LO VCG exceeds max. differential delay (Rx) 16 HO VCG exceeds max. differential delay (Rx) 32 LO VCG exceeds max. differential delay, calculated over all containers (Rx) 64 HO VCG exceeds max. differential delay, calculated over all containers (Rx) 128 Transmit FIFO overflow (Tx) 256 Rx head-of-line blocking FIFO overflow

What is etherIfAlarmStatus?

This is a bitmap (summed as an integer 1-511) of Ethernet interface defects such as LO/HO LCAS group identifier mismatch, VCG differential delay exceeded, transmit FIFO overflow, or Rx head-of-line blocking FIFO overflow; a value of 1 means no alarm. Admins decode this bitmap to pinpoint which specific virtual-concatenation or buffering fault is affecting Ethernet-over-SDH traffic on this interface.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6368.2.8.3.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PEGASUS-SDH-MIB::etherIfAlarmStatus

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6368.2.8.3.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PEGASUS-SDH-MIB::etherIfAlarmStatus.1
