senderObjectName

Module: PEGASUS-LEAN-TRAP-MIB

OID (symbolic): PEGASUS-LEAN-TRAP-MIB::senderObjectName

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6368.2.5.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: accessible-for-notify

Description: The canonical form of the JMX object name for the object which sent the trap. This is a compact and unique representation readable both to man and machine.

What is senderObjectName?

This accessible-for-notify string carries the compact JMX-style object name of the element that raised the alarm, such as "LineCard:DSLLinkId=0,slotId=5" as shown in the MIB's own trap examples. An administrator uses it as a machine-parseable identifier that's easier to key off than the raw OID in the sender field. It gives scripts and monitoring tools a stable string key for the affected object.
