What is wredStatisticsDiscards?
This read-only counter tracks packets discarded by the Weighted Random Early Discard (WRED) mechanism on a packet bridge interface. WRED is a congestion management algorithm that probabilistically drops packets when the queue approaches capacity, weighted by traffic class priority, avoiding the cliff-effect of tail-drop. Network operators monitor this metric to tune traffic management policies and verify that WRED is actively protecting the network from congestion.
