pdnIgmpGeneralQueryInterval

Module: PDN-IGMP-STD-EXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): PDN-IGMP-STD-EXT-MIB::pdnIgmpGeneralQueryInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.47.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: This object is similar to the igmpInterfaceQueryInterval object defined in RFC2933. However, it can be used to set a global value that applies to all the interfaces in the system with IGMP enabled.

A value of zero disables this option and thus the agent shall employ the value configured in the igmpInterfaceQueryInterval for each interface running IGMP. In the other hands, if this object is set to a value greater than zero, the value takes precedence over the value configured in the igmpInterfaceQueryInterval for that interface.

What is pdnIgmpGeneralQueryInterval?

This read-write value, in seconds and defaulting to 125, is similar to the standard igmpInterfaceQueryInterval from RFC 2933 but sets a global value applying to all IGMP-enabled interfaces at once; a value of zero disables this global override so each interface uses its own igmpInterfaceQueryInterval instead, while a value greater than zero takes precedence over per-interface settings. Admins use this to standardize the IGMP query interval across the whole device without configuring each interface separately. For example, setting it to 60 forces every IGMP-enabled interface to send queries every 60 seconds, overriding their individual settings.

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.47.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PDN-IGMP-STD-EXT-MIB::pdnIgmpGeneralQueryInterval

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.47.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PDN-IGMP-STD-EXT-MIB::pdnIgmpGeneralQueryInterval.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.47.1.4.1 i <value>
