pdnEntPhySensorExtUpperThreshold

Module: PDN-ENTITY-SENSOR-EXT-MIB

OID (symbolic): PDN-ENTITY-SENSOR-EXT-MIB::pdnEntPhySensorExtUpperThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.45.1.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: EntitySensorValue

Access: read-write

Description: This object sets the upper limit of a sensor's threshold. When the value of entPhySensorValue becomes greater than the value of this object, an 'Upper Threshold Exceeded' state is entered.

What is pdnEntPhySensorExtUpperThreshold?

This sets the upper limit value that, when the corresponding sensor's reading exceeds it, causes the sensor to enter an "Upper Threshold Exceeded" state. Administrators configure this to define what reading counts as abnormally high for a given sensor, such as an overheating condition, so the device can flag or alert on it. For example, setting this to 75 on a temperature sensor measured in degrees Celsius means the device considers anything above 75 degrees to be an upper-threshold violation.
