Module: PDN-DNS-MIB
OID (symbolic): PDN-DNS-MIB::devDNSDefaultDomainName
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1795.2.24.2.17.1.1

Type: DomainName

Description: the object allows the NMS to configure the default domain name for the device
What is devDNSDefaultDomainName?
This object lets a management station configure the default domain name the device appends when resolving unqualified hostnames. Admins set this so that short hostnames typed on the device automatically get the correct domain suffix during DNS lookups. Setting devDNSDefaultDomainName to "example.com" would let the device resolve a hostname like "server1" as "server1.example.com" during a lookup.
