mdmLocalCarrierDetect

Module: PANDATEL-FHFLF-MODEM-MIB

OID (symbolic): PANDATEL-FHFLF-MODEM-MIB::mdmLocalCarrierDetect

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.760.1.1.2.1.10.102.1.1.60

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The data carrier detect mode at the interface: if set to 'fo-link-and-remote-handshake' the DCD signal (resp. I for X.21, etc.) follows link status and remote RTS (resp. C for X.21, etc.), if set to 'fo-link' the DCD signal follows link status only.

What is mdmLocalCarrierDetect?

This read-write enumerated value configures how the modem drives its local Data Carrier Detect signal, or equivalent such as the X.21 'I' lead, toward the attached DTE. Choosing fo-link-and-remote-handshake makes DCD reflect both fiber link status and the remote end's RTS/C signal, giving the attached router a fuller picture of end-to-end readiness, whereas fo-link only reflects the local fiber's up/down state. For example, an admin troubleshooting a router that won't bring up its serial interface might switch mdmLocalCarrierDetect to fo-link(3) to rule out the remote handshake state as the cause of DCD staying low.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.760.1.1.2.1.10.102.1.1.60
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> PANDATEL-FHFLF-MODEM-MIB::mdmLocalCarrierDetect

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.760.1.1.2.1.10.102.1.1.60.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> PANDATEL-FHFLF-MODEM-MIB::mdmLocalCarrierDetect.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.760.1.1.2.1.10.102.1.1.60.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> mdmLocalCarrierDetect.1
