Description: Setting this object to enabled(1) causes the device to silently drop ICMP echo (ping) requests. This is a simple way to cloak the presence of a device from ping sweeps.
What is hostIfSecurePing?
Read-write control that, when enabled, causes the device to silently drop incoming ICMP echo (ping) requests on this interface, as a simple way to hide the device from ping sweeps; defaults to disabled. An admin enables this on interfaces facing untrusted networks to reduce the device's visibility to reconnaissance scans.
