Description: Defines the enterprise OID registration hierarchy for PacketFlux Technologies power and networking hardware MIBs.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is PACKETFLUX-SMI?
PACKETFLUX-SMI is the Structure of Management Information module for PacketFlux Technologies, a vendor of power distribution and networking hardware for telecom and broadcast sites. Rather than defining monitorable data objects itself, it establishes the enterprise OID registration hierarchy under which PacketFlux's actual product MIBs (e.g. for power controllers, remote reboot switches, or environmental monitoring units) register their objects. As a root/SMI definition module it exposes no direct hardware or software status data on its own; the monitoring capability comes from the sibling MIBs that build on this OID tree. It is a prerequisite dependency for any PacketFlux product-specific MIB. It is used in telecom shelters, radio tower sites, and broadcast facilities where PacketFlux power/environmental gear is deployed. Engineers can download the PACKETFLUX-SMI file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PACKETFLUX-SMI. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- PacketFlux Technologies power/networking hardware (any model)
Monitoring Examples
This module contains no runtime data objects or tables of its own (no sample objects were present in the source), so there is no monitoring scenario to describe directly; it exists purely to define the OID namespace that PacketFlux's other MIBs use to register their managed objects.

RFC description
A PacketFlux Technologies Structure of Management Information (SMI) base MIB that defines the root object identifiers and organizational structure for all PacketFlux product and management MIBs, enabling SNMP-based monitoring of PacketFlux network devices.
Start monitoring PacketFlux Technologies power/networking hardware, any model (shared OID registration) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
