managementAssociationState

Module: Olicom-MIB

OID (symbolic): Olicom-MIB::managementAssociationState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.285.7.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This variable describes the current association between this device and this management system. Some systems are association oriented (e.g. CMIP) and can therefore have state associated(1) or not-associated(2), while other management systems are request/reply oriented (e.g. SNMP) and therefore always have the state na-association(3).

What is managementAssociationState?

This reports the current association state between the device and this management system: associated (someone is logged in), not-associated (nobody is logged in), or na-association (not applicable), since connection-oriented protocols like CMIP have real associated/not-associated states while request/reply protocols like SNMP always report na-association. An admin should expect the SNMP row in this table to always show na-association rather than treating that as an error.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.285.7.1.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> Olicom-MIB::managementAssociationState

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.285.7.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> Olicom-MIB::managementAssociationState.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> managementAssociationState.1
