ospfv3LsdbOverflow
Module: OSPFV3-MIB
OID (symbolic): OSPFV3-MIB::ospfv3LsdbOverflow
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.191.0.8
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description:
An ospfv3LsdbOverflow notification signifies that the number of LSAs in the router's link state database has exceeded ospfv3ExtAreaLsdbLimit.
What is ospfv3LsdbOverflow?
This notification alerts when the number of routing announcements (called LSAs) stored in a router's memory has exceeded the configured limit. Each network change generates new routing announcements, and too many simultaneously can indicate a routing instability. An operator receiving this alarm must investigate for network flapping or reconfigure the router's memory limits for routing data.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' OSPFV3-MIB::ospfv3LsdbOverflow snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.2.1.191.0.8
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
