What is optixsonetDeviceType?
This is a text string reporting the device type of the OptiX network element, distinguishing it from other equipment models in the transport network. Administrators use it in inventory and topology views to know exactly which model or class of transport device they are looking at without querying separate hardware detail tables. For example, a value like "OptiX OSN 3500" would identify the specific product line running at this network element.
