pfCntMemory

Module: OPENBSD-PF-MIB

OID (symbolic): OPENBSD-PF-MIB::pfCntMemory

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.30155.1.2.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter64

Access: read-only

Description: The number of packets that were dropped due to memory limitations.

What is pfCntMemory?

Counts packets dropped because pf ran out of memory in one of its internal pools (e.g., for state entries) rather than being blocked by policy. A rising count is a signal to review pf's memory limits (pfLimitStates, pfLimitFragments, etc.) since the firewall may be resource-constrained.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.30155.1.2.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> OPENBSD-PF-MIB::pfCntMemory

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.30155.1.2.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> OPENBSD-PF-MIB::pfCntMemory.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> pfCntMemory.1
