Module: ONEACCESS-VLAN-CONFIG-MIB
OID (symbolic): ONEACCESS-VLAN-CONFIG-MIB::outerEtherType
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.13191.10.3.1.6.1.2.1.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: SPVlanEtherType
Access: read-create
Description: This textual convention defines the different EtherType of a SPVLAN.
etherType-8100 - Specifies Ethertype value 0x8100, as defined in IEEE Standard 802.1q
etherType-9100 - Specifies Ethertype value 0x9100
etherType-88a8 - Specifies Ethertype value 0x88a8, as defined in IEEE Standard 802.1ad
What is outerEtherType?
This read-create object selects the EtherType used for the outer QinQ tag: standard 0x8100 (802.1Q), 0x9100, or 0x88a8 (802.1ad). An admin sets this to match whatever EtherType the upstream service-provider network expects for double-tagged frames, since mismatched EtherTypes will prevent proper QinQ interoperability. Setting it to etherType-88a8 would use the standards-based 802.1ad EtherType (0x88a8) for the outer tag.
