rptrBasHealthState

Module: Novell-Hub-Ethernet-MIB

OID (symbolic): Novell-Hub-Ethernet-MIB::rptrBasHealthState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.23.2.2.1.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The health state object indicates the operational state of the repeater. The rptrBasHealthData and rptrBasHealthText objects may be consulted for more specific information about the state of the repeater's health.

In the case of multiple kinds of failures (e.g., repeater failure and port failure), the value of this attribute shall reflect the highest priority failure in the following order: rptrFailure(3) groupFailure(4) portFailure(5) generalFailure(6)

What is rptrBasHealthState?

This read-only INTEGER reports the repeater's overall operational health: ok(2) means no known failures, while rptrFailure(3), groupFailure(4), portFailure(5), and generalFailure(6) flag increasingly specific fault categories, reported in that priority order when multiple issues coexist. An admin alerts on anything other than ok(2) and then consults rptrBasHealthText or rptrBasHealthData for the specifics.
