Module: Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-TdmaIwfMIB

OID (symbolic): Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-TdmaIwfMIB::mscTdmaCsV42N400RetransLimit

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.36.2.1.135.7.10.1.9

Description: This attribute specifies the maximum number of times the IWF retransmits a frame upon expiry of t401AckTimer before appropriate recovery action is taken. Information about N400 (Retransmission Limit) is not carried in the Exchange Identification (XID) negotiation at call setup time so both sides operate with different N400 values. Changes to this attribute do not affect existing calls.

What is mscTdmaCsV42N400RetransLimit?

A read-write setting (0-255, default 1) specifying the maximum number of times the IWF retransmits a V.42 frame after the T401 acknowledgment timer expires before triggering recovery action (e.g. resetting or dropping the link). Since N400 isn't negotiated during call setup, each side of the link can independently run a different retransmission limit; changes only affect new calls, not calls already in progress.
