Description: This attribute specifies whether a 16 bit or a 32 bit Frame Check Sequence (FCS) will be used for the link between the IWF and the far end DCE. This attribute has one of the following values: fcs16: Use only a 16 bit FCS. fcs32Or16: 32 bit FCS is preferred; Use a 16 bit FCS if needed. fcs32Only: Use only a 32 it FCS; If unavailable, drop the connection.

What is mscTdmaCsV42FcsLength?

A read-write setting (default fcs32Or16) choosing the Frame Check Sequence size used between the IWF and the far-end DCE: fcs16 forces a 16-bit FCS only, fcs32Or16 prefers a 32-bit FCS but falls back to 16-bit if needed, and fcs32 (labeled fcs32Or16(1)/fcs32(2) in the enumeration, described in the text as fcs32Only) requires 32-bit and drops the connection if unavailable. A larger FCS gives stronger error detection at a small overhead cost, so admins would choose fcs32 specifically when link integrity matters more than compatibility with older 16-bit-only endpoints.
