Description: This attribute indicates the mode of the fax T.30 protocol, determined during Exchange Identification (XID) negotiations. The following modes are supported: normal: Normal T.30 protocol, Error Correction Mode (ECM) not used. ecm: Error Correction Mode used. Fax error correction is done using a half-duplex page selective repeat technique.

What is mscTdmaBcFaxActiveMode?

Reports the T.30 fax protocol mode negotiated during XID (Exchange Identification): normal (no error correction) or ecm (Error Correction Mode, using a half-duplex page selective-repeat technique). Admins check this when a fax call has quality problems, since a call falling back to normal mode instead of negotiating ECM will be more susceptible to line-noise-induced page errors.
