mscRtgPorsProfDiscardPriority

Module: Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-PorsVcMIB

OID (symbolic): Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-PorsVcMIB::mscRtgPorsProfDiscardPriority

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.36.2.1.40.6.7.11.1.15

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This attribute specifies the importance of the packets on the path. One is used for paths carrying the most important traffic, and three is used for paths carrying the least important traffic. Packets with lower discardPriority (numerically lower) are discarded after packets with a higher discardPriority (numerically higher). The default value for this attribute (sameAsApplication) will cause the connection's discardPriority to be inherited from the user of the profile. In other words, setting this attribute to anything other than the default acts as an override to the priority normally used by the application linked to this profile.

What is mscRtgPorsProfDiscardPriority?

Specifies how important this path's packets are when a trunk needs to selectively discard traffic under congestion, with 'sameAsApplication', the default, inheriting the priority from the service using this profile rather than overriding it.
