mscLpEngFrsMaxCalls

Module: Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-FrameRelayEngMIB

OID (symbolic): Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-FrameRelayEngMIB::mscLpEngFrsMaxCalls

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.36.2.1.12.23.3.10.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-only

Description: This attribute indicates the maximum number of Frame Relay (FR) calls of any type (PVC, SPVC, or SVC) which can be simultaneously 'current' on the LP. Note that 'current' doesn't necessarily mean that the call is in data transfer. It minimally means that such a call can subsequently generate accounting records. When the value of currentCalls reaches the value of maxCalls for FR on this LP, subsequent call attempts are rejected by the FR service.

What is mscLpEngFrsMaxCalls?

This read-only Unsigned32, ranging 0 to 1000000 and defaulting to 1000000, indicates the maximum number of Frame Relay calls of any type -- PVC, SPVC, or SVC -- that can be simultaneously current on this logical processor. Per the description, once currentCalls reaches this value, the Frame Relay service starts rejecting subsequent call attempts, so it acts as an admission-control ceiling. An admin sizing capacity on a heavily loaded LP would monitor mscLpEngFrsCurrentCalls against this maxCalls value to know how close the LP is to refusing new Frame Relay calls.
