mscFrDteDlciCommittedBurst

Module: Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-FrameRelayDteMIB

OID (symbolic): Nortel-MsCarrier-MscPassport-FrameRelayDteMIB::mscFrDteDlciCommittedBurst

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.36.2.1.101.8.11.1.19

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Description: The committed burst size (in bits) to which the DLCI wants to subscribe.

Setting this attribute will operationally override the corresponding provisional value on static entries.

What is mscFrDteDlciCommittedBurst?

This read-write value (0-2,048,000 bits, default 64000) sets the committed burst size an operational DLCI (Dlci) is allowed to send above its steady CIR rate without penalty. An admin raises this to give bursty applications more headroom before rate enforcement kicks in, at the cost of a higher peak the carrier's network has to absorb. Because this is the operational (Dlci-level) copy of the attribute, setting it here overrides the corresponding provisioned value on the underlying static entry without changing that provisioned default.
