vmIfLinkToProtocolPort

Module: Nortel-Magellan-Passport-VirtualMediaMIB

OID (symbolic): Nortel-Magellan-Passport-VirtualMediaMIB::vmIfLinkToProtocolPort

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.2.4.1.133.2.10.1.1

Description: This attribute specifies the ProtocolPort to which this interface is linked to. The protocol port is the logical interface to the network. The protocol port component describes the logical characteristics of this interface.

What is vmIfLinkToProtocolPort?

This object specifies which ProtocolPort component this VirtualMedia interface is bound to, since the protocol port describes the logical network-facing characteristics that the vmIf ultimately uses to send and receive traffic. An admin sets this to establish the actual data path for inter-VR communication or an always-up BGP interface, since a vmIf provides no connectivity until it's linked. For example, an admin might link a vmIf to protocol port 'IP/5/2' to route traffic for virtual router 5's port 2 through this VirtualMedia.

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> Nortel-Magellan-Passport-VirtualMediaMIB::vmIfLinkToProtocolPort

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.2.4.1.133.2.10.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> Nortel-Magellan-Passport-VirtualMediaMIB::vmIfLinkToProtocolPort.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.2.4.1.133.2.10.1.1.1 s <value>
