trkExpectedRemoteNodeName
Module: Nortel-Magellan-Passport-TrunksMIB
OID (symbolic): Nortel-Magellan-Passport-TrunksMIB::trkExpectedRemoteNodeName
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.2.4.1.60.101.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: AsciiString
Access: read-write
Description: This attribute specifies the expected node name of the module to which this Trunk is connected. Once entered, the node name must correspond to the Mod nodeName attribute of the remote node. The Trunk end points exchange their node name through the Trunk staging protocol. The staged value is validated and the remoteValidationAction will be executed for those values not matching the value supplied for this attribute. If this attribute is an empty string, then the comparison is always successful.
What is trkExpectedRemoteNodeName?
This read-write value names the remote Passport node this Trunk is expected to connect to; the Trunk staging protocol exchanges and validates node names against this value, and an empty string always passes validation. An admin sets this to catch a trunk that has been accidentally cabled or configured to connect to the wrong remote node.
