modRegionId
Module: Nortel-Magellan-Passport-ShelfMIB
OID (symbolic): Nortel-Magellan-Passport-ShelfMIB::modRegionId
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.2.4.1.16.10.1.4
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Unsigned32
Access: read-write
Description: This attribute identifies the Topology Region to which the node belongs. Nodes will only exchange topological information with connected nodes in the same region.
The default value of 0 indicates that no regionId has been assigned to the module. A module using the default regionId belongs to the same region as the first neighbour which stages with it using a non- zero regionId. If another neighbour tries to stage using a different non-zero regionId, the trunk will not be allowed to come up.
Changing the value of the regionId will cause the node to restart.
What is modRegionId?
Identifies the Topology Region this node belongs to (0 to 126); nodes only exchange topology information with other nodes in the same region. The default value of 0 means no region has been explicitly assigned, and such a node inherits its region from the first neighbor it stages with using a non-zero region ID; conflicting non-zero region IDs between neighbors prevent the trunk from coming up. Changing this value causes the node to restart.
