OID (symbolic): Nortel-Magellan-Passport-FrameRelayDteMIB::frDteErrDiscards
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.562.2.4.1.101.26.1.6
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Counter32
Access: read-only
Description: Number of inbound frames dropped because of format errors or because the virtual circuit was not known. Format errors, in this case, are any errors which would prevent the system from recognizing the DLCI and placing the error in the discard category.
This counter will wrap around to 0 when it exceeds its maximum count.
What is frDteErrDiscards?
Counts inbound frames dropped due to format errors or because the virtual circuit was unrecognized; the counter wraps to 0 after reaching its maximum. A steadily climbing value here, tracked over a polling interval, tells an admin the far end (or an intermediate device) is sending malformed or misdirected Frame Relay frames.
