nwtControlSampleType
Module: NetWare-Server-Trend-MIB
OID (symbolic): NetWare-Server-Trend-MIB::nwtControlSampleType
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.23.2.26.1.1.1.5
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-only
Description: The method of sampling the selected variable and calculating the value to be compared against the thresholds.
If the value of this object is 'absoluteValue', the value of the selected variable at the end of the sampling interval will be compared directly with both the nwtControlRisingThreshold and the nwtControlFallingThreshold values.
If the value of this object is 'deltaValue', the value of the selected variable at the end of the sampling interval will be subtracted from its value at the end of the previous sampling interval, and the difference compared with both the nwtControlRisingThreshold and the nwtControlFallingThreshold values.
If the value of this object is 'averageValue', the average value of the selected variable over the sampling interval will be compared with both the nwtControlRisingThreshold and the nwtControlFallingThreshold values.
What is nwtControlSampleType?
Determines how the sampled value used for threshold comparison is computed: the raw value at interval end (absoluteValue), the change since the previous interval (deltaValue), or the average over the interval (averageValue). An admin monitoring a rate-like stat, e.g. NCP requests, would typically want deltaValue rather than absoluteValue.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.23.2.26.1.1.1.5 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> NetWare-Server-Trend-MIB::nwtControlSampleType
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.23.2.26.1.1.1.5.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> NetWare-Server-Trend-MIB::nwtControlSampleType.1
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> nwtControlSampleType.1
