ntpOffsetI

Module: NTP-MIB

OID (symbolic): NTP-MIB::ntpOffsetI

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.50.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Difference between peer and local clocks. (Integral portion)

What is ntpOffsetI?

This object reports the integer portion of the clock offset between this device's local clock and the NTP peer's clock, i.e. how far out of sync they currently are. Admins use it, paired with ntpOffsetF, to see how much correction NTP is applying to keep local time aligned with the reference source. A large or growing ntpOffsetI value could indicate local clock drift or an unreliable peer that shouldn't be trusted for synchronization.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.50.1.1.7
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> NTP-MIB::ntpOffsetI

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.50.1.1.7.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> NTP-MIB::ntpOffsetI.1
