ntpOffsetF

Module: NTP-MIB

OID (symbolic): NTP-MIB::ntpOffsetF

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.50.1.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Difference between peer and local clocks. (Fractional portion)

What is ntpOffsetF?

This object reports the fractional portion of the clock offset between this device's local clock and the NTP peer's clock, complementing the integer portion in ntpOffsetI. It provides the sub-second precision NTP needs to make fine adjustments when disciplining the local clock toward the reference time. Combined with ntpOffsetI, an admin can compute the exact offset, such as 0.023 seconds, currently being corrected against this peer.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.50.1.1.8
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> NTP-MIB::ntpOffsetF

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.50.1.1.8.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> NTP-MIB::ntpOffsetF.1
