ntpInterval

Module: NTP-MIB

OID (symbolic): NTP-MIB::ntpInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.50.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TimeTicks

Access: read-only

Description: Polling interval, in seconds

What is ntpInterval?

This object reports how often, in seconds, this device polls the associated NTP peer for time updates. Admins use it to understand the responsiveness of time synchronization, since a shorter polling interval tightens clock accuracy at the cost of more network chatter. For example, ntpInterval might show 64 seconds during initial synchronization and then lengthen as the clock stabilizes.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.50.1.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> NTP-MIB::ntpInterval

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.50.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> NTP-MIB::ntpInterval.1
