ntpDispersionF
Module: NTP-MIB
OID (symbolic): NTP-MIB::ntpDispersionF
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.50.1.1.10
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-only
Description: Difference between peer and local clocks. (Fractional portion)
What is ntpDispersionF?
This object reports the fractional portion of this device's estimated dispersion relative to the NTP peer, complementing the integer portion in ntpDispersionI. It supplies the sub-second precision needed for NTP's algorithm to accurately bound the uncertainty in a peer's reported time. Together, ntpDispersionI and ntpDispersionF let an admin judge exactly how much error margin NTP currently attributes to synchronizing against this particular peer.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.50.1.1.10 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> NTP-MIB::ntpDispersionF
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.50.1.1.10.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> NTP-MIB::ntpDispersionF.1
