Description: This variable represents the sequence number of the Notifications and is incremented by one whenever a notification is emitted from the agent. This would be included as a varbind for all notifications and this value when read indicates the sequence number of the last transmitted trap.

What is nortelNMIcurrentTxNotificationSequenceNum?

This value reports the sequence number of the most recently transmitted notification from this agent, incrementing by one each time a notification is emitted and included as a varbind in every notification sent. An admin uses it to detect whether any notifications were lost in transit by checking for gaps in the sequence across received traps. For example, receiving a notification with sequence number 105 right after one numbered 102 would tell an admin that two notifications in between were lost.
