ntcHWAdminState

Module: NOKIA-HWM-MIB

OID (symbolic): NOKIA-HWM-MIB::ntcHWAdminState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.94.1.16.7.1.1.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Represents the desired state of the unit. inService indicates that the unit is intended to be operating normally. outOfService indicates that the unit should be taken out of normal operating mode and no data traffic should appear in this unit. inTest indicates that the unit should be placed into a selftest mode. missing indicates that the unit is expected to be present but has been detected as not being physically present.

The NMS is not allowed to set the value of ntcHWAdminstate to missing.

What is ntcHWAdminState?

This read-write integer represents the administratively desired operating state of a pluggable circuit board unit in the chassis, with values inService, outOfService, inTest, or missing. An admin sets this to control a unit's intended mode: outOfService pulls the unit out of live data-forwarding without physically removing it, while inTest forces a selftest mode; the NMS is not permitted to set the value to missing. For example, before swapping a faulty board an admin would set ntcHWAdminState to outOfService(2) for that unit's row to gracefully stop traffic through it first.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.94.1.16.7.1.1.1.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> NOKIA-HWM-MIB::ntcHWAdminState

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.94.1.16.7.1.1.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> NOKIA-HWM-MIB::ntcHWAdminState.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.94.1.16.7.1.1.1.1.1.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> ntcHWAdminState.1
