Module: NNCEXTNEINVENTORY-MIB

OID (symbolic): NNCEXTNEINVENTORY-MIB::nncNEInvEnggPartNo

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.123.3.69.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-only

Description: Describes the engineering part number(87 level). Every assembly is expected to have this number. The format is 87-SSSS-VV-PR where SSSS is assembly number, VV is variant, P is copper platform and R is revision. Default value is returned whenever there is a failure to get this information. For example, if a card is configured but not installed, then a default value is returned.

What is nncNEInvEnggPartNo?

This read-only string, up to 18 characters, reports the internal engineering part number (87-level) of an assembly, in the format 87-SSSS-VV-PR; every assembly is expected to have one, though an empty default is returned if it can't be retrieved, such as when a card is configured but not physically installed. Admins use it for precise internal hardware identification, distinct from the customer-facing marketing part number. For example, seeing an empty value here for a configured slot would tell an admin that particular card isn't actually physically installed, rather than there being a data retrieval problem.
