Description: This command sets a port to discard any superior information received by the port and thus protect against root of the device from changing. The port gets put into discarding state and does not forward any packets.

enable(1) - enables the root-guard mode for the port. disable(2) - disables the root-guard mode for the port.

The default root-guard mode is disabled.

What is agentStpCstPortRootGuard?

This enable(1)/disable(2) flag (default disabled) turns on root guard for this port, which discards any superior spanning-tree information received on it and puts the port into discarding state rather than letting it become the new root path. An admin enables it on a port facing an untrusted or customer-edge switch to prevent that device from ever becoming the root bridge.
