Category: Firewall
Description: Provides interface-level traffic statistics and link state information for NETASQ firewall network interfaces.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is NETASQ-IF-MIB?
NETASQ-IF-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from NETASQ (Stormshield) providing interface-level traffic statistics and link-state information for the network interfaces on its firewall appliances. It exposes a list of interfaces along with their operational/link state and traffic counters, mirroring in spirit the standard IF-MIB but scoped to NETASQ's own interface model. It is used to monitor the hardware status of the firewall's network connectivity — confirming each interface (e.g., WAN, LAN, DMZ) is up and passing the expected volume of traffic, which is foundational for confirming the appliance is correctly routing/filtering traffic. It likely complements or overlaps with the standard IETF IF-MIB, since interface monitoring is a well-established convention it would naturally build on. It is typically deployed by network/security teams monitoring NETASQ firewall appliances to ensure all configured interfaces remain up and are carrying traffic as expected. Engineers can download the NETASQ-IF-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NETASQ-IF-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- NETASQ (Stormshield) firewall appliance
Monitoring Examples
No object or table names were provided for this module (sample_objects is empty), so specific OIDs cannot be cited; in practice an admin would poll the per-interface link-state and traffic-counter objects to confirm each firewall interface is up and passing traffic at expected volumes. An interface unexpectedly showing a down link state or a traffic count that has stopped incrementing would indicate a cable, port, or upstream connectivity fault on that link.
What Can Be Monitored
- interface link/operational state
- interface traffic counters (in/out)
- number of interfaces
