nbsTrapIfTrapsSelect
Module: NBS-TRAPCONTROL-MIB
OID (symbolic): NBS-TRAPCONTROL-MIB::nbsTrapIfTrapsSelect
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.629.209.2.2.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: OCTET STRING
Access: read-write
Description: Bitmask administrating which SNMP Notifications should be sent for this interface.
Bit 0 is reserved.
Subsequent bits refer to the nbsTrapListTable. Bit 1 corresponds to the first table entry, Bit 2 to the second entry, and so on.
A bit is set (1) if that SNMP Notification should be emitted for this interface, and cleared (0) if it should be suppressed.
OCTET STRING bitmasks count the leftmost bit (MSB) as 0.
What is nbsTrapIfTrapsSelect?
This is a read-write bitmask administrating which of the capable SNMP notifications should actually be emitted for this interface, using the same bit-to-table-entry mapping as nbsTrapIfTrapsCaps. Admins set individual bits here to enable or suppress specific traps per interface, letting them silence noisy notifications on some ports while keeping them active on others. For example, an admin might clear the bit corresponding to linkDown on a port known to flap intentionally, to stop it from generating a flood of notifications.
