nbsSigLaneLaneRxPowerLevel

Module: NBS-SIGLANE-MIB

OID (symbolic): NBS-SIGLANE-MIB::nbsSigLaneLaneRxPowerLevel

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.629.236.20.1.1.30

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This object indicates the status of this lane's measured received power, reported in nbsSigLaneLaneRxPower:

notSupported(1), if (nbsSigLaneLaneRxPower = 0x80000000);

lowAlarm(2), if nbsSigLaneLaneRxPower < nbsSigLanePortRxPowerVendorMin;

lowWarning(3), if nbsSigLaneLaneRxPower > nbsSigLanePortRxPowerVendorMin and nbsSigLaneLaneRxPower < nbsSigLanePortRxPowerUserMin;

ok(4), if nbsSigLaneLaneRxPower is within thresholds;

highWarning(5), if nbsSigLaneLaneRxPower < nbsSigLanePortRxPowerVendorMax and nbsSigLaneLaneRxPower > nbsSigLanePortRxPowerUserMax;

highAlarm(6), if nbsSigLaneLaneRxPower > nbsSigLanePortRxPowerVendorMax

What is nbsSigLaneLaneRxPowerLevel?

This value indicates the alarm/warning status of this lane's received optical power, reported in nbsSigLaneLaneRxPower, relative to vendor and user-configured thresholds. Admins use it to detect a degrading or failing optical link on a specific lane, since a lowAlarm status often points to fiber attenuation, a dirty connector, or a failing remote transmitter. For example, a highWarning(5) status would prompt an admin to check whether the remote end's transmit power was increased beyond expected levels.
