nbsRedundCfgStandbyTxToggle

Module: NBS-REDUNDANCY-MIB

OID (symbolic): NBS-REDUNDANCY-MIB::nbsRedundCfgStandbyTxToggle

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.629.221.1.2.1.40

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Persistent. Setting this to txToggle(3) allows a formerly active port that detects no signal to notify its remote partner that it is ready to transmit and connectivity is re-established between them.

Enabling this feature may result in unnecessary switchovers and dropped traffic.

What is nbsRedundCfgStandbyTxToggle?

This persistent object, when set to txToggle(3), allows a formerly active port that has lost signal to notify its remote redundant partner that it's ready to resume transmitting once connectivity is restored; the description notes enabling this can cause unnecessary switchovers and dropped traffic. An admin leaves this at its default txOff(2) in most deployments specifically to avoid that flapping risk, enabling txToggle(3) only when fast automatic recovery signaling is more valuable than the switchover risk. Enabling it on a link prone to brief signal loss could cause repeated failovers rather than a single clean switch.
