Description: If TRUE, causes the port not to be selected as Root Port for the CIST or any MSTI, even it has the best spanning tree priority vector.
What is swMSTPPortRestrictedRole?
This read-write TruthValue, when set to TRUE, prevents this port from being selected as Root Port for the CIST or any MSTI even if it has the best spanning tree priority vector. Admins use this on a port toward an untrusted or non-preferred upstream device so that traffic is never forced to route through it as the primary uplink.
