This variable shall assume a value of reboot(2) if the management application requests that this stand-alone execute a complete hardware reboot which reloads the code load from storage.

What is mss8210ResetFlag?

This object is a control flag that triggers a full hardware reboot of the IBM 8210 MSS Server stand-alone, reading back noreset(1) when idle and accepting reboot(2) to request a restart. An administrator writes reboot(2) to remotely force the device to reload its code load from storage, for example after applying a firmware update, without needing physical access. For example, an admin sets this OID to reboot(2) via SNMP SET to restart the box after loading new firmware.
