Description: The network status of this PCI adapter on this stand-alone. The variable shall assume a value of up(1) if the adapter is connected to the network. The variable shall assume a value of down(3) if the adapter can not verify a network connection. The variable shall assume a value of testing(4) if the adapter is running tests for the network connection. The variable shall assume a value of unknown(1) if network status can not be determined. The variable shall assume a value of does-not-apply(5) if the adapter does not contain a network state.

What is mss8210PCIAdapNetworkStatus?

This value reports the network link status of this PCI adapter, indicating whether it has a verified connection to the network: up, down, testing, unknown, or does-not-apply. An administrator monitors this as the primary indicator of whether an ATM or FDDI uplink on this card is actually passing traffic. For example, a change from up(2) to down(3) indicates the adapter lost network connectivity and should trigger a cabling or upstream-switch check.
