mplsTunnelResourceMaxRate

Module: MPLS-TE-MIB

OID (symbolic): MPLS-TE-MIB::mplsTunnelResourceMaxRate

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.3.95.2.6.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: MplsBitRate

Access: read-create

Description:

The maximum rate in bits/second. Note that setting mplsTunnelResourceMaxRate, mplsTunnelResourceMeanRate, and mplsTunnelResourceMaxBurstSize to 0 indicates best- effort treatment. This object is copied to an instance of mplsTrafficParamMaxRate in mplsTrafficParamTable the OID of which is copied into the corresponding mplsInSegmentTrafficParamPtr.

What is mplsTunnelResourceMaxRate?

This object configures the maximum bandwidth in bits per second that an MPLS Traffic Engineering tunnel is allowed to consume. Setting it to zero indicates best-effort treatment with no rate limit. The value is copied into MPLS label-switched path traffic parameters for enforcement by routers. An operator would set this to enforce QoS policies and prevent any single tunnel from monopolizing the network's capacity.
