ripIpIfIndex

Module: MIB-INTEL-RIP

OID (symbolic): MIB-INTEL-RIP::ripIpIfIndex

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.39.1.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The interface that the frame is forwarded on.

What is ripIpIfIndex?

Identifies the interface on which a frame matching this route would be forwarded. Admins use it to see which local interface RIP has associated with a learned route, useful when troubleshooting why traffic to a destination is or isn't taking the expected path. A value pointing to a specific WAN interface index confirms RIP is directing traffic for that destination out through that link.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> MIB-INTEL-RIP::ripIpIfIndex

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.343.6.39.1.1.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> MIB-INTEL-RIP::ripIpIfIndex.1

SNMPv3 example:
