mefServiceUniCfgIdentifier

Module: MEF-UNI-EVC-MIB

OID (symbolic): MEF-UNI-EVC-MIB::mefServiceUniCfgIdentifier

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.15007.2.2.1.2.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: DisplayString

Access: read-write

Description: This object indicates the UNI identifier. This is distinct from the mefServiceInterfaceCfgIdentifier and allows the naming of the UNI separately from the Interface name. The identifier is an arbitrary text string that is used to identify an interface. Unique string values are chosen to uniquely identify the UNI.

This object is used to add an identifier to a service interface. The mefServiceInterfaceCfgIdentifier can be used to add a separate identifier that is associated with the physical interface name.

Octet values of 0x00 through 0x1f are illegal.

MEF 26.1 restricts the maximum size identifiers to 45 octets.

What is mefServiceUniCfgIdentifier?

An arbitrary, unique text string naming this UNI (User Network Interface) itself, kept separate from mefServiceInterfaceCfgIdentifier which names the underlying physical port; control characters (0x00-0x1f) are illegal and MEF 26.1 caps the string at 45 octets.
