ipMediaStreamInterval

Module: MEDIA-MONITOR-MIB

OID (symbolic): MEDIA-MONITOR-MIB::ipMediaStreamInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.9930.1.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-only

Description: The number indicates the minimum Interval in seconds for a good MDI Measurement. The Interval is based on the current Bit Rate of the Stream. The minimum interval should be chosen such that at least 10 IP packets occur per interval. This value defaults to 1 second and the Interval is typically configured to 1 second unless the above criteria is not met.

What is ipMediaStreamInterval?

This object reports the minimum measurement interval, in seconds, the device uses to compute a valid Media Delivery Index reading for this stream, calculated so that at least 10 IP packets fall within each interval based on the stream's bit rate. It defaults to 1 second and is typically left there unless the stream's low bit rate requires a longer window to gather enough packets. For example, a very low-bitrate stream might need an interval longer than 1 second so the device collects enough packets to produce a statistically meaningful MDI measurement.
