Description: The new mode extends the exception list from 24 nodes to 160 nodes. However, to do this it must reduce the location and comments fields and not save the port security data. This might not be possible in some cases and an erase configuration is the only cure. This is supported in microcode 4.20 and later.
What is madgeCauSecurityExtendedException?
This reports/controls the security exception table's capacity mode: oldModeOnly(1) means the device only supports the older 24-entry list, inOldMode(2) means it's currently using that mode, and inNewMode(3) means it's using the extended 160-entry mode (available in microcode 4.20+, which trims location/comment fields and doesn't save port security data). Switching modes may require an erase-configuration if the conversion isn't possible in place.
